A mold gives a basket a consistent shape. You weave around it, and every basket made on that mold comes out the same size.
How it works
- Attach the base. The slotted base sits at the bottom of the mold and the stakes rise along its sides.
- Weave around it. The mold holds the stakes in place so your rows stay even.
- Watch the guide. Kit molds include a guide that shows where to stop weaving and where to cut the stakes so the rim fits.
- Release the basket. Puzzle molds come apart so the finished basket lifts out without being forced.
Which mold
Our molds are 3D printed from durable recycled material, lighter than wood. The 3 inch round mold is 2.5 inches tall. The Multi-Mold kit weaves three basket heights on one mold. Many kits can be bought without the mold if you already own one.
