Williams Family Mill is a family business in Burgaw, North Carolina. This page explains what information this website collects, why, who sees it, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect very little.

What we collect

When you place an order

We receive your name, email address, billing address, shipping address and what you ordered, including any personalization text you type. You enter your card details on a secure page run by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

Your cart

Your cart is saved in your own browser on your device so it is still there when you come back. It is not sent to us until you choose to check out. Clearing your browser data removes it.

When you contact us

If you email or call us, we keep your message and contact details so we can help you and follow up on your order.

Questions you ask our online assistant

The Ask the mill assistant sends what you type to Amazon Web Services, which runs an AI model to write the answer. We do not keep your questions or the answers. We record only anonymous counts, such as the general topic of a question and how long the answer took. To prevent abuse, a scrambled version of your internet address is kept for about two hours to count how often the assistant is used; it cannot be turned back into your address. Please do not type payment details or other personal information into the assistant. It cannot see or change orders.

Technical information

Our website does not set cookies and does not use advertising or tracking tools. The companies that host the site and process payments may collect technical details such as your internet address to deliver pages securely and prevent fraud.

Samples from Basketwright

Some kit pages can show a 3D sample from Basketwright, our basket design software. It loads only when you press the button to open it. Basketwright runs on its own website with its own privacy policy, and like any website it can see technical details such as your internet address. We send it nothing about you or your orders, and anything you make there stays on that site.

Email updates

We send marketing email only to people who asked to receive it, and every message includes a way to unsubscribe. If you joined our email list on our previous website, we have kept your subscription choice, including if you unsubscribed.

How we use it

We use your information to take and fill your order, calculate shipping and any sales tax, send order confirmations and updates, answer your questions, handle returns and keep the business records we need. We do not sell your information.

Who we share it with

• Stripe processes payments, and may calculate sales tax, and sends your receipt.
• Amazon Web Services hosts this website, stores our order records in encrypted storage, and runs the assistant.
• USPS or FedEx receive your name and shipping address to deliver your order.

We may also share information when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as we need them for taxes, accounting, returns and legal requirements. Assistant questions are not kept. The anonymous counters used to limit assistant use expire within days.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask to be removed from our email list. Children

This website is meant for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this page

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and its date.
