Choosing a complete basket weaving kit

A complete kit gives you what you need to weave a basket from start to finish: a slotted wooden base, a fitted rim or lid, reed or cane, and, in most kits, a reusable mold that shapes the basket as you weave. Williams Family Mill designs and packs its kits in Burgaw, North Carolina.

The range runs from small projects to showpieces. Beginners often start with a small basket such as the Heart Trinket Basket, the Toothpick Holder or a Holiday Ornament. Weavers who want a bigger project can try a Bean Basket, a Nantucket-style basket with a carved lid, or the Holiday Serving Tray.

Most kits have a drop-down menu for kit options. Choose the Complete Kit for everything in the box, or an option without the cane or without the mold if you already have those. Base-and-rim-only options are not complete kits, so read the option you pick. To buy the parts separately, see the slotted bases and fitted rims.
